On 4 April, 2015 participants and alumni of the Yerevan School of Political Studies had a meeting with Mr. Seyran Ohanyan, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia.

Mr. Armen Zakaryan, Director of Yerevan School of Political Studies, made an opening speech during which he thanked the Defence Minister for receiving YSPS representatives and stressed the importance of such events, especially within the context of current challenging situations. 

During the meeting, Defence Minister Seyran Ohanyan presented the Armenian defence policy and strategy as the most important components of external politics. Seyran Ohanyan spoke about the issues of Armenian defence policy, military-political attitudes, national and international guarantees, provisions of the strategic defence review process, and generally about the implementation of key reforms within the military-industrial field.

The Minister of Defence touched upon the geopolitical developments in the region, including foreign confrontations, and stated that the Armenian military leadership conducts a courageous and initiative policy, which contributes to the combat readiness within the armed forces, the expansion of partnership relations, the strengthening of building integrity, and the struggle against corruption.

An active discussion followed the end of the lecture, throughout which Seyran Ohanyan answered all questions from the audience.
